Wont somebody please think of the price gougers?
From the housing market the Taylor Swift tickets, these mum and pop investors will soon be barely able to afford their 3rd yacht
Dear Australia,
There has been a concerning trend recently of people attacking the poor innocent rich people trying to earn a modest living by making tonnes of money through needlessly driving up prices while making the rest of us suffer.
Price scalpers and gougers are at the very heart of Australia. From big business to the arts, throwing large sums of money around to drastically raise prices for profit is as engrained in Australia as those who do it buying favours by donating to politicians.
There has been a lot of chatter around the housing market and this radical proposal that the government should enact caps on rent rises stopping them from exponentially rising more than interest rate rises, but in a country where the top 1% of earners owns 1/4 of the properties and losses on rentals can be a tax ride off, can we really risk limiting the amount of profit these mum and pop investors?
Many of these people will barely be able to afford their third yacht if these changes happen.
Reading the news we can all be sure that these policies fail and destroy property markets. I mean just look at Canberra, where one can assume that there are no longer any rental properties. This is not fear mongering, it is fear assuring, that our investments will see big returns.
I mean do we really want the sort of kind souled landlords who would be put off by having rental caps no longer buying up multiple properties to extort renters and drive up prices?
What kind of world would that be?
It’s not just the housing market either, the draconian Dictator Dan has capped ticket resales on Taylor Swift’s tour. This is outrageous, I think all Swifties can agree it has been far too easy to get tickets as is, but guy wants to redistribute the means of ticket purchase?
This sounds like some spooky socialism to me, be afraid, be very afraid!
It’s about time we stop this woke nonsense and let the rich have a fair go at stealing money from the poor, the way this country was meant to be.
Signed,
Tucker Murdoch

The disappointing failure of the non-existent ‘Yes’ campaign
On the 30th of August 2022, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese held a press conference with Minister for Indigenous Australians Linda Burney and gambling ad spokesperson Dr Shaquille O’Neal to announce a referendum on the proposed Indigenous Voice to Parliament, an advisory body of First Nations people who talk to Indigenous groups on a state and local level to try represent the diverse opinions of Indigenous people.
Eleven months later, the referendum bill passed, leaving many to wonder whether the ‘Yes’ campaign will ever start?
